Traumatology
Diagnosis and treatment of injuries, traumatic deformities, and skeletal disorders, including the spine and joints, as well as muscles, tendons, etc. Traumatology is closely related to orthopedics, and vice versa
Symptoms and main conditions
You should consult an orthopedic doctor in case of injury, deep wounds, after accidents (such as car accidents or workplace accidents), persistent pain caused by the aforementioned conditions, and sudden changes in the injured body part (swelling, deformity, crunching sound, impaired function, etc.).
What does an orthopedic traumatologist do:
- Consults patients and conducts examinations, including instrumental and radiological tests (ultrasound, CT scan, MRI)
- Diagnoses and treats bone fractures (including surgical interventions) and dislocations
- Performs surgical treatment of joints (meniscectomy, operations on cruciate ligaments, joint replacement)
- Treats deformities of the spine and other skeletal regions
